What do Deepak Chopra, the Dalai Lama, and the Pope, have in common?
According to a report by Michael Lollar of GoMemphis.com, Deepak Chopra says they should all be ‘Human Shields’ now that we don’t have John and Yoko! Curiouser and curiouser the world gets:
“Deepak Chopra, the doctor who is bringing his brand of East-meets-West philosophy to Memphis, proposed Wednesday that the Pope, the Dalai Lama and himself serve as human shields to avoid bombing in Iraq and to rid the world of Saddam Hussein.”
It’s the part about 'ridding the world of Saddam Hussein' that I don’t quite get. I don’t remember any mention of the requisite skills in the resumes of these three 'luminaries.'
If they are planning to assassinate Saddam, I think they should swap out Deepak Chopra for Tupac Shakur [impossible since he died in 1996 - RIP Tupac]. I have always confused their names anyway - or maybe we should consider sending three rappers instead of any of these guys.
I can just see those three trying to 'out-positive think' Saddam, and then the Pope holds him while Deepak looks into his eyes with that weird stare he has on all his book covers until Saddam succumbs as the Dalai Lama levitates all the WMD that nobody else could find.
In the meantime, one is torn to know which of these personalities, or indeed, which combination is more or less dangerous to the world than Dubya.
But since we can’t get the international live debate between Dubya and Saddam going, perhaps this is the next best thing and will provide the most titillating Reality TV yet, while Rome continues to burn. At the end of the show viewers should get a chance to vote as to who should go and who should stay. Of course, since I have read the Constitution of the United States, I already know who should be Impeached and thrown in prison - Lawfully Speaking. But apparently they can't remove dictators over here either.
